自05年开始，世界快餐业巨头“麦当劳”又给中国引进了一个新名词“得来速”。麦当劳（中国）有限公司首席执行官施乐生日前表示：麦当劳已将目光锁定在中国迅速增长的“驾车族”身上。在不远的将来，麦当劳超过一半的新店将以“得来速”的形式出现。

Jeffrey Schwartz, CEO of McDonald's China, told China Daily that drive-throughs will be a major weapon in the company's future expansion and a key element of the firm's strategy for further growth.

估摸看了新闻，您可能要说，“敢情‘得来速’就是drive-through呀，drive-through 肯定和驾车行驶有关，难不成‘得来速’指的是‘汽车餐厅’？”

猜的一点没错！“drive-through”指的是“免下车服务的餐厅”。在此，驾车族可以免费停车并享受快餐服务，或者驾驶员不用下车就可在专门的车道上依次享受点餐、取餐和付费服务，此时，“through”指的是“通过”。依此类推，a drive-through banking指的是“免下车服务的银行”。

此外，进行“汽车快餐服务”的窗口叫drive-up window（“免下车”服务窗口），如：a drive-up window at the bank（银行的免下车服务窗口）。
