外贸函电:谢绝减价要求

不能给予折扣时,应该详细委婉地说明情况。莽撞作复是为禁忌。

Dear Sirs,

It was a pleasure to receive your inquiry of June 18 concerning the supply of our best electronic ovens. We are enclosing our price list and terms of business, in which you will find full details of our normal trade discount.

We note that you have requested an additional discount of 3%, and would point out that prices have already been cut to an absolute minimum, and cannot be offered by our competitors.

We therefore regret that we are unable to allow you any discount in this instance. You can, however, be sure that any advantage we receive in the way of manufacturing costs is always passed on to you in the form of lower prices.

In spite of the increased costs of raw materials expected next year, we anticipate being able to maintain present prices, and even reduce them for some lines we are producing.
